In light of dangerous and devastating situations occurring in unlikely communities, the Better Business Bureau of Upstate New York will join law enforcement and take a proactive step toward education for local businesses. In a one-day educational seminar presenters will help attendees learn how to react should the unthinkable occur – shots fired nearby.
Active Shooter: Educate Yourself to Protect Yourself will help participants know how to respond before police arrive, identify aggression in the workplace, which could prevent violence and share information to help businesses create their own emergency response plan. While we all want to believe an active shooter situation is something that will never happen here, its remains important for business owners to know what to do should they ever face a potentially dangerous situation.
Chief of Police for the NFTA Transit Police Department George W. Gast, Director of Corporate Security for Delaware North Companies James H. Robertson, and Director of Public Safety for Canisius College Gary M. Everett will present their personal knowledge and experiences with active shooter situations.
